Beacon of Hope

Beacon of Hope is a program with a mission to help individuals 21 years of age and older with complex health needs. Many in this situation face the need for improved access to information for medical issues, emotional support, social interaction, and connection to potential funding resources available to individuals who meet specific financial criteria.

"As a speech pathologist working with adults, many people have crossed my path with needs that fall outside the scope of their insurance coverage, no services available that meet their specific needs, or they are unaware that services are available to them or how to access them. I remember what it felt like to navigate those dark waters, often tossed around with no real answers in sight."  - Shannon Combs
Shannon Combs is a Speech Language Pathologist as well as a pastor's wife and mother to three sons. When her mother's health began to decline, and Shannon was faced with the daunting task of caring for her mother's health needs while also raising young children. Shannon was able to get through that difficult season with the help of her family and community. But as she continued to treat adults, she realized the need for a network of resources, information ,and patient advocacy for other caregivers in Hot Springs.
As Program Director for Beacon of Hope, Shannon works to centralize information and resources that can be accessed in an instant to give caregivers a helping hand.
